Thursday, August 22, 2002 ( 4:52 PM ) JZ Well I think I have re-joined the land of the living! Vacation was not at all what I had planned! We left for Monterey on Friday August 9, nice drive up the coast, stopped in Morro Bay it was beautiful as always. I was still feeling the slight affects of what I thought was left over from the food poisoning, and the fact that "a girlie friend" had paid me a visit the night before. We got to Monterey in the early afternoon, and decided to have a BBQ with our friends at their house. Well I had very little appetite, so I barely ate, not giving it much thought. The next morning we went to our friends restaurant, Cafe Stravaganza, the food was delecious and I felt like I had not ate for a week, oh ya I hadn't! But I still couldn't eat much. When we got back to the house Scott and I went for a walk down on the beach trail, and when we got back the stomach pain started in again, it was going all the way from my stomach into my chest and through to my back. It was horrible! I had never experienced pain like this before. Scott called my Dr. here at home to see if there was something that I could take, my Dr. said we needed to the go the ER right away. Great! So we went to the ER, where they told me I was dehydrated and thought I probably had a gall bladder problem. They gave me an IV with pain meds and fluids to rehydrate me and took bood to see about my gall bladder. When the Dr. returned he explained that I did in fact need surgery to remove my gall bladder. Happy vacation to Jeniffer! (and poor Scott) Well Scott convinced the Dr. that it would be much better for me to have surgery back home, where I could recover in my own home afterward, instead of having to drive 7 hours the day after surgery. So they gave me meds to keep me comfortable until I got home on Sunday. Sunday we drove back and went straight to the hospital, I was admitted that night and taken into surgery Monday afternoon to remove my gall bladder, on Tuesday I had another procedure to remove a stone that was in a duct. I got to come home Wednesday. I was supposed to go back to work that Friday. But the Dr. said no work for two weeks. AAAAAAHHHHH I am going crazy it is the start of school and there is so much that needs to be taken care of. So here I am reading books, taking it easy, and stressing over the job that I am not at. Best of all I get to back next Monday, which is my BIRTHDAY! Happy Birthday to me, we are reopening the office the public after the summer on that day. Mass hysteria! So that pretty much sums up my vacation and why I haven't posted lately, I don't think too many people read this anymore so it's no big deal :) #
